8th Pay Commission’s decision, employees will be able to give their demands comfortably

New Delhi. An important news related to the 8th Central Pay Commission has come out for the Central Government employees and pensioners. Giving relief in the process of sending suggestions and demands, the Commission has extended its last date. This has given the employees additional time to express their views.

Increase in deadline

Earlier the last date for sending suggestions was fixed till 30 April 2026, but now it has been extended to 31 May 2026. This means that now one month’s extra time has been given, due to which more people will be able to register their opinion. This decision was taken because due to high pressure on the online portal, technical problems were being faced at times and many employees were not able to apply on time.

Only online process is valid

The Pay Commission has made it clear that the only way to give suggestions will be the online portal. Any kind of email, written letter or PDF file will not be accepted. Its purpose is to keep the process uniform and transparent.

Who are included?

Different sections of the central government have been involved in this process. This includes central employees, armed forces personnel, Union Territory employees, All India Service officers and pensioners. Besides, many government organizations and employee unions can also send their opinions.

Commission’s work and further process

The 8th Pay Commission was constituted in November 2025. Its main function is to review the salary structure, allowances and service conditions of the employees. The commission has been given approximately 18 months to prepare its report.

Round of meetings continue regarding new pay commission

At present the Commission is in discussion with various employee organizations. The salary structure and other facilities have been discussed in detail in the recent meetings. The process of preparing the report may become faster in the coming months.
