Bowlers laid the basis of victory

Royal Challengers Bangalore, who came to bat first after losing the toss at Narendra Modi Stadium, did not have a special start. The team kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Devdutt Padikkal tried to control the innings by scoring 40 runs, but other batsmen could not make a big contribution. The entire team was reduced to 155 runs in 19.2 overs. Gujarat bowlers maintained the pressure with disciplined line-length.

Gill and Butler took command

Gujarat Titans had a balanced start while chasing the target of 156 runs. Captain Shubhman Gill and Jos Buttler batted with responsibility and put the team in a strong position. Both of them maintained pressure on the opposition bowlers by maintaining the run pace. Although some wickets fell in between, the team achieved the target by losing six wickets in 15.5 overs.

Position strengthened in points table

With this victory, Gujarat Titans registered their 26th win while chasing the target in IPL. The team has faced defeat in such matches 13 times so far. In the current season, Gujarat has 10 points with five wins in nine matches, due to which its position in the points table has improved. However, the net run rate of the team is -0.192. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore currently remains in second place despite three defeats.
