You can travel for free on Ganga Expressway for so many days, know what other facilities there are for the passengers
Ganga Expressway: Now the era of high speed has started on the much awaited Ganga Expressway of Uttar Pradesh. The good news for the people of the state is that one can travel on this 594 kilometer long expressway without toll for the first 15 days. This will not only provide convenience to the common people, but they will also be able to experience this modern highway without any extra expense.
Chief Minister and Prime Minister gave gifts
Yogi Adityanath announced this special exemption on the occasion of Labor Day. Earlier, Narendra Modi had inaugurated this expressway in Hardoi on 29 April. This project is being considered a big step towards giving new heights to the infrastructure of the state.
When will toll collection start?
According to officials, at present the process of formal approval regarding toll rates is going on. As soon as the proposal is passed by the cabinet, toll collection will be started. After this, all vehicle drivers will be charged automatically through FASTag. This will be a closed toll system, so that passengers will not need to stop anywhere in between.
Expressway equipped with hi-tech facilities
Ganga Expressway has been designed with modern technology. Its design speed has been kept at 120 km per hour, due to which the journey from Meerut to Prayagraj can be completed in just 5 to 6 hours.
AI based high-sensor cameras have been installed on this expressway, which will monitor the traffic. Besides, the facility of non-stop toll reduction will also provide relief from the problem of traffic jam. In such a situation, passengers will not only get high quality roadways but will also get a chance to travel safely.
Proposed Toll Rates
Toll fee is decided on the basis of distance. As per the proposed rates, it has been fixed at Rs 1.28 per kilometer for two-wheelers and three-wheelers, Rs 2.55 per kilometer for cars/jeep/vans and Rs 4.05 per kilometer for light commercial vehicles.
Whereas for buses and trucks, this rate can be 8.20 per kilometer and for heavy vehicles, this rate can be from 12.60 to 16.10 per kilometer. According to estimates, one may have to pay a toll of around Rs 1,500 for traveling by car from Meerut to Prayagraj.
Major Toll Plazas and Routes
Two main toll plazas have been built on this expressway in Meerut and Prayagraj. Apart from this, there are also 14 to 19 ramp toll plazas in between. This route passes through 12 districts including Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli and Pratapgarh.
Better facilities for passengers
Keeping in mind the convenience of passengers, strict arrangements have been made for emergency services, facilities near the interchange and security on the expressway. 15 days free travel on Ganga Expressway is a great opportunity for the people. This will not only make travel faster and easier, but will also play an important role in the development of Uttar Pradesh. Even after toll is implemented in the future, this expressway will remain a convenient and time-saving option for the people.
