He suffered this injury during IPL 2026, after which the concern of both the team management and fans regarding his fitness has increased.

Serious injury in IPL match

According to the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC), Mitchell Santner recently returned to New Zealand and has been examined by a specialist doctor. According to the report, he will need at least four weeks of rest and rehabilitation. Only after this further decision will be taken regarding his return.
Due to this injury, Santner is now out of the initial phase of the international Test series.
