Yogi government’s big announcement for workers: Cashless treatment and insurance up to Rs 5 lakh
Yogi Adityanath made many big announcements for the construction and industrial workers of the state in the ‘Shramveer Gaurav Samaroh 2026′ organized on the occasion of International Workers’ Day. He announced to provide cashless treatment and accident insurance up to Rs 5 lakh to the workers, which is being considered as a strong security cover for the workers. The Chief Minister clearly said that every worker will get full remuneration for his labor and any kind of exploitation will not be tolerated.
Lakhs of workers will get health benefits
It was told in the program that till now 12.26 lakh construction workers have been linked to the Ayushman scheme. Apart from this, the remaining 15.83 lakh workers will also soon be provided cashless treatment facility of up to Rs 5 lakh under this scheme.
Along with this, a plan is also being made to provide health and accident insurance to the workers working in industrial areas, which will directly benefit about one crore workers.
Emphasis on industrial development and employment
The Chief Minister said that about 3 crore people are employed in the MSME sector in the state. In the last few years, 18 thousand new industries have been established, which have provided employment to about 65 lakh people. Describing the industry and workers as complementary to each other, he stressed the need to maintain industrial peace.
Housing and facilities for workers
The government has also focused on residential facilities to improve the living standards of the workers. Instructions have been given that where industries are established, accommodation should be arranged for the workers. Along with this, dormitory facilities and affordable and quality canteen facilities will also be developed for the workers.
expansion of health infrastructure
Health services are being expanded under the Employees State Insurance Corporation. There is a plan to build a 300-bed ESIC hospital in Greater Noida, while land has also been identified for a hospital in Gorakhpur. At present, 116 ESIC dispensaries are operating in 41 districts, while these will soon be established in the remaining 34 districts also.
Education and Respect Initiative
During the program, the Chief Minister honored the meritorious students of Atal Residential Schools by giving them tablets and certificates. The aim of this initiative is to provide better education and digital resources to the children of workers.
Apart from this, tool kits were also provided to some construction workers symbolically, to boost their skills and employability.
