Release of the film ‘Raja Shivaji’
Mumbai: Riteish Deshmukh’s much awaited film ‘Raja Shivaji’ has been released in theaters on May 1. The film is based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, starring Salman Khan in a pivotal role as Jeeva Mahala. Let us know who Jeeva Mahala was and what type of character Salman is.

In 1659, near Pratapgarh Fort, Shivaji Maharaj met Sardar Afzal Khan of Bijapur, which was a conspiracy. Afzal Khan suddenly attacked Shivaji, but Jeeva Mahala immediately attacked Syed Banda with her sword and killed him. This bravery saved the life of Shivaji Maharaj and immortalized the name of Jeeva Mahala in Maratha history.
