BPSC paper is not leaked, is there some other reason?

BPSC: Bihar Public Service Commission has canceled the Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO) examination. This decision was taken after irregularities and attempts at malpractice came to light during the examination. 10 lakh 97 thousand candidates had applied for the AEDO examination held from 14 to 21 April. Along with this, the Assistant Public Sanitation and Waste Management Officer examination held on 23 April 2026 has also been cancelled. During the examination, attempts were made to cheat through Bluetooth and other means at some centers but these were caught in time.

Bihar Public Service Commission has clarified that no evidence of question paper leak has been found in the investigation. Neither has the question paper of any set or series been confirmed to have gone viral. An attempt to influence the sanctity of the examination definitely came to light.

Why was the exam cancelled?
BPSC said that misleading news was spread on social media and some news media. These reports raised questions on the fairness of the examination. Keeping this in mind, the Commission took this decision. It was informed by Bihar Public Service Commission that due to the vigilance of the district administration at the district level during the Assistant Education Development Officer competitive examination, FIRs and other punitive actions have been taken against anti-social elements/candidates who organized/attempted misconduct through Bluetooth etc. at some centres. Along with this, 32 candidates have been banned from participating in the upcoming examinations of the Commission on the charges of attempting malpractice/conspiring to tamper in the examination, but according to the information received, no evidence of the question paper of the said examination being leaked or going viral has been found during the research.

Paper of any set was not leaked
BPSC said that no question paper of any series of any question paper set of this examination has been received. An attempt has been made to influence the sanctity of the examination in some centers during the said examination through FIRs lodged, news being circulated in various newspapers/social media etc. Therefore, after due consideration, keeping in mind the wider interest of the meritorious candidates and the commitment of the Commission to conduct the examinations with malpractice-free and transparency, a total of 9 (nine) shifts of Assistant Education Development Officer written (objective) competitive examination was conducted from 14.04.2026 to 21.04.2026 under Advertisement No. 87/2025 and dated under Advertisement No. 108/2025. The Assistant Public Sanitation and Waste Management Officer written (objective) competitive examination held on 23.04.2026 is cancelled.
