100 year old rare manuscript found in Supaul

A major achievement has come to light amid the campaign for discovery and conservation of ancient handwritten texts under ‘Gyan Bharatam Mission’ in the district. Located in Hariharpur of block Chhatapur Sadguru Kabir Math A rare manuscript more than 100 years old has been recovered, causing an atmosphere of excitement in the area.

Name of this manuscript found under the patronage of Mathadhish Hari Sharan Goswami ‘knowledge and wisdom’ It has been told. This book is handwritten by a saint of the Math, in which it is a compilation of couplets and couplets of Saint Kabir. This manuscript written in Devanagari script remains the center of special attraction due to its beautiful and clear handwriting.

District Officer Sawan Kumar said that such manuscripts are invaluable heritage of our cultural heritage. It is a collective responsibility to keep them safe and pass them on to the coming generations. He said that the district administration is working rapidly towards digitization and preservation of these rare texts.

District Art and Culture Officer Tarakeshwar Patel said that the objective of the mission is not only to preserve the manuscripts but also to develop Supaul as a cultural and intellectual centre.

A lot of enthusiasm is being seen among the local people regarding this initiative. The villagers present at the Math have appreciated the efforts of the administration and assured cooperation. The administration has appealed to the common people that if they have any old manuscript or scripture, then share it with the mission, so that it can be safe.

This manuscript found from Hariharpur Kabir Math is an indication that even today historical and informative heritages are hidden in rural areas. Through ‘Gyan Bharatam Mission’, meaningful initiatives are being taken towards saving our heritage in the district.
