Between April 27 to May 1, Indian startup ecosystem cumulatively raised $204 Mn across 19 deals, marking an about 5X jump from the $39 Mn raised across 15 deals last week.

  • Fintech segment emerged as the most funded segment during the week with a cumulative funding of $57.5 Mn across three deals.
  • In terms of deal count, Advanced Hardware & Technology recorded the highest number of deals with five startups raising a total of $13 Mn.
  • Accel and India Accelerator were the most active investors this week, backing 2 startups apiece.
  • While the overall funding activity gained momentum, investments at the seed stage slowed down. The stage saw a capital infusion of $4.6 Mn during the week, down 74% from $17.8 Mn raised at this stage last week.

Startup IPO Updates This Week

  • Lending tech startup Whose parent OnEMI Technology Solutions’ IPO opened for bidding on April 30th and received a subscription of 24% on the opening day of bidding.
  • MakeMyTrip is said to be eyeing a public listing on the Indian bourses in the first quarter of 2027. The travel giant has appointed Axis Capital, Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan as advisers for the proposed share sale
  • Used car marketplace Spinny is also eyeing public listing within the first quarter of 2027. It is said to have onboarded a host of investment bankers like Kotak Mahindra Capital, Morgan Stanley and Citigroup to helm the public issue.
  • Insurtech unicorn Acko roped in ICICI SecuritiesMorgan Stanley, and Kotak Securities as the bankers for its upcoming IPO at a potential valuation of $2-$2.5 Bn. It is looking to file the DRHP via the confidential route in the second half of 2026 and hit the bourses in 2027

  • JSW Group’s B2B ecommerce marketplace JSW One Platforms acquired proptech startup BuildNext to strengthen its home construction wing — JSW One Homes in an undisclosed financial deal
  • Capital A marked the first close of its Fund II at ₹160 Cr to back startups operating in the manufacturing, deeptech, climate tech, and fintech sector. The fund has a total target corpus of ₹300 Cr, with a greenshoe option to raise it up to ₹400 Cr.
