Why is CM Samrat Chaudhary giving the message of ‘Pind Daan’ to the criminals of Bihar?
Sanjay Singh, Patna: Now both the land of religious institutions and law and order have come together at the center of politics and administrative priorities of Bihar. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary clearly indicated during his visit to Gaya that the government is now going to take comprehensive and decisive action against illegal encroachment on the land of monasteries and religious places. This special campaign will start from Bodh Gaya. Bodhgaya is not only a center of faith but also has international identity.
Addressing the National Seminar on ‘Religious Coordination in Indian Tradition’ organized at the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said that it is the primary responsibility of the government to protect the land of religious institutions. He bluntly said that wherever a complaint of illegal occupation is received, strict action will be taken and no one will be spared.

‘Playing with the law will not be tolerated’
The Chief Minister’s stance was not limited to land only. He also gave a strict message regarding law and order. He said that now decisive action is being taken against criminals in Bihar. This campaign will continue further also.

Vishnupad temple and the tradition of Pind Daan is famous all over the world, but now Pind Daan of criminals has also started.
The Chief Minister has expressed his intentions that the government is following the policy of zero tolerance towards crime. The Chief Minister also took a tough stance regarding the safety of women and girls. He said that this is the top priority of the government and whatever drastic steps are required will be taken for this.
‘Encroachment will be removed, crime will stop’
It is clear from this visit and statements of the Chief Minister that the government is now going to show strictness on two fronts, illegal occupation and crime. This campaign starting from Bodh Gaya can have a big impact in the entire state in the coming days. The government’s message is clear that the land of religious faith will be safe and those who play with the law will not be spared at any cost.

‘Confluence of faith and development’
During the Gaya tour, the Chief Minister also gave the message of taking religious faith and development together. He first offered prayers at the Vishnupad temple and then inspected the proposed Vishnupad Corridor project on the banks of river Falgu. He also reviewed the progress of development schemes by meeting with officials. After this, after reaching Bodh Gaya, he had darshan of Lord Buddha in the Mahabodhi temple and greeted the people of the state on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. During this, he said that the religious and cultural heritage of Bihar is its biggest identity and the government is committed to its conservation and development.
‘Aim for prosperous Bihar’
Many public representatives including Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar were present in the program. In his address, the Chief Minister also said that in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India, a target has been set to make Bihar prosperous and self-reliant. He said that the state government is continuously working towards changing the image of Bihar through development of faith places, promotion of tourism and strengthening law and order.
