First of all, you need to know that Pet Box cannot be booked online. For this the passenger has to go to the parcel or baggage office of the station from which the train departs. But in this case it is mandatory for the passenger to have some documents.
1. Must have confirmed ticket. Pet box booking cannot be done if the name is in RAC or waiting list.
2. Pet fitness certificate required. Which should be issued 24 to 48 hours before departure.
How about the cost?
Pet box charges depend on the weight of the pet. Basically Rs.30 per kg. That is, if the weight of your pet is 10 kg. Then you have to multiply 300 rupees for pet box.
Where will your pet be kept on the train?
Pets are not allowed in the passenger cabin. There is a secure cage for them in the train. The cage will be near the driver’s cabin. Keep in mind, Pet Box fees are non-refundable. If the train is cancelled. However, you will not get a Pet Box refund. But before going to the station with your pet, you must know whether the pet box is empty or not.
