Mumbai, 2 May. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced the Indian team for the proposed ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 to be held in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5.
The squad was finalized at the national selection committee meeting, which was attended by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, head coach Amol Majumdar, selection committee chairperson Amita Sharma and BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia.
Team also announced for the only test match against England
Devjit Saikia announced the team in a press conference. Apart from the T20 World team led by Harmanpreet Kaur, the team for the one-off Test against England was also announced. Smriti Mandhana will be the vice-captain of both the teams. The Test match against England will be played at Lord’s Ground from 10 to 13 July.

However, Pratika Rawal and injured all-rounder Amanjot Kaur have been left out of the 15-member squad announced for the World Cup, while wicketkeeper-batsman Yastika Bhatia has returned and ‘uncapped’ (who has not played an international match) player Nandini Sharma will be the new face. However, Pratika has been included in the team for the test match against England.

Nandini is a medium pace bowler, who played 10 matches for Delhi Capitals in the Women’s Premier League and took a total of 17 wickets. She was also a part of the Indian team that participated in the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament held in Bangkok in February this year.
The selected team will also take part in a three-match T20 International series to be played against hosts England before the World Cup. This series will start from 28th May.
