Sensational case at JP Morgan: Indian-origin employee alleges sexual harassment, causing uproar in the company
Washington: A female boss of the giant company JP Morgan Chase has been accused of making an Indian-origin youth working in the company a ‘sex slave’ in the office. The female executive is accused of using her power and position to sexually harass junior employee Chirayu Rana, whom the company has named ‘Doe’. During this, the woman fed him Viagra and forcibly spoke obscenely, due to which he even started crying. Now a case has been registered against the woman.
The lawsuit alleges that Lorna Hajdini, 37, an executive director in JPMorgan Chase’s leveraged finance division, forced a married banker into non-consensual and degrading sexual acts for months, despite his repeated pleas to stop. Hajdini even told him he had to please her if he wanted a promotion.
Who is Chirayu Rana, who has accused Lorna Hajdini of harassment
? The male employee whom Lorna Hajdini is accused of sexually harassing has been identified as Chirayu Rana. The New York Post, citing sources, reported that Rana, 35, is currently a principal at investment firm Bregal Sagemount. According to Bregal Sagemount’s website, Chirayu Rana is a principal at Bregal Sagemount, where he is responsible for originating and underwriting investments in the software, healthcare, financial technology, business services, and consumer services sectors. Prior to joining Bregal Sagemount, Chirayu was a vice president at JPMorgan, where his primary focus was on originating, structuring, and underwriting sponsor-backed credit opportunities in the software and technology sectors.
What did the company’s investigation find?
Chirayu reportedly filed a sensational lawsuit against Lorna earlier this week. However, the bank conducted an internal investigation, which found the allegations to be unsubstantiated. A bank spokesperson, who declined to comment on the identity of the accused, said that a thorough internal investigation conducted by the bank’s HR department and in-house lawyers found no evidence to support the allegations. The investigation also included a review of the team’s phone records and emails. The spokesperson further stated, “After the investigation, we do not believe these allegations have any merit.” Although several employees cooperated with the investigation, the complainant refused to participate and refused to provide facts that would have been crucial to substantiating her allegations.
‘If you want a promotion, you have to please me’
According to Chirayu (Doe)’s complaint, Hajdini’s alleged misconduct began almost immediately after they began working together in 2024. Hajdini is accused of referring to the married banker as “Brown Boy Indian.” Doe claims that twice, Hajdini propositioned her for oral sex in the office. Once, he asked, “A birthday BJ for my Brown Boy? My little Brown Boy.” Doe claims that she repeatedly resisted his advances, but Hajdini allegedly threatened to harm her career. He told Doe that if she wanted a promotion to Executive Director, she had to start pleasing him. Doe alleges that once, while they were at a work social event at Hajdini’s private club, Hajdini repeatedly touched her private parts under the table.
