Poonam Dasgupta’s cyber harassment case
Mumbai: Well-known TV and film actress Poonam Dasgupta, who gained recognition from the serial ‘Papi Gudiya’, has now become a victim of cyber harassment. He has lodged a complaint at Oshiwara police station, stating that an unknown person has sent him obscene videos and objectionable pictures on WhatsApp.
This incident happened on 27 April 2026 at around 6:30 pm. Poonam was at her home when she received messages containing obscene content from an unknown number. She was shocked to see this material. He said that this incident put him under mental stress. After this, she talked to her husband about it and contacted the police.
On April 29, Poonam went to Oshiwara police station and lodged a formal complaint. He has also given screenshots of those obscene messages to the police. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and have started investigation to identify the accused. Poonam started her career with TV serials and films.
Her role in ‘Papi Gudiya’ was highly appreciated by the audience. He is very upset after this incident. She said that such obscene messages are very difficult for any woman. According to police sources, the accused may have misused old photographs. The police is now trying to get information about that WhatsApp number.
Efforts are being made to trace the accused with the help of cyber cell. Poonam Dasgupta’s fans are quite disappointed with this incident and are demanding immediate arrest of the accused. Police are taking this matter seriously and are planning to take further action soon.
