Delhi A tragic accident in the early hours of Sunday in Shahdara area shook the entire area. A massive fire suddenly broke out in a four-storey residential building located in Vivek Vihar, which took a huge turn within a short time. So far, 9 people have been confirmed dead in this accident.
There was chaos in the area after the incident. Fire department teams reached the spot and quickly started relief and rescue operations. The fire was brought under control after a lot of effort, but this accident has left many families in deep shock.
When did the accident happen?
The accident occurred around 3 am in the morning, when the fire spread to the second, third and fourth floors of the building. The fire spread so fast that people did not even get a chance to recover. Many people were trapped in their flats and could not find their way out.
As soon as information about the incident was received, about 12 vehicles of the fire department reached the spot. Teams of fire brigade, traffic police and local police together conducted the rescue operation. During this time 10 to 15 people were evacuated safely. Two people were slightly injured and have been sent to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for treatment.
According to a local resident, “The house caught fire at around 3:13 in the morning due to a blast in the AC. On receiving information about the accident, the fire brigade arrived at around 3:35. Many people were taken out through the balcony and windows.”
What did the DCP of Shahdara say on the incident?
Shahdara DCP Rajendra Prasad Meena said, “We received information about the fire around 4 am in the morning. After receiving the call, fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and the fire was brought under control.” He further said that the search operation is still going on to ensure that no one else is trapped inside.
How did such a big accident happen?
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the fire started due to an explosion in the AC. It is being told that there was an AC blast in a flat located on the second floor, due to which the fire quickly spread to the third floor. However, detailed investigation from which part of the fire started is still going on.
According to the information, when the fire reached the third floor, the people present there ran towards the terrace to save their lives. But unfortunately the door of the terrace was found closed, due to which they could not come out and got caught in the fire. Similarly, four people present on the second floor also died in this accident.
