There was an AC blast in a four-storey building in Vivek Vihar Fire Incident of Delhi’s Shahdara area on Sunday morning (around 3 am). Within no time the fire engulfed 6 flats of the building. After this, someone was burnt alive while sleeping on the bed. Someone burnt himself to death on the stairs while running. The extent of the accident can be gauged from the fact that only burnt skeletons were found in the name of some dead bodies.

Those who lost their lives in the Delhi AC blast included 4 men, 4 women and a 1.5 year old child. 10 to 15 people were saved during the rescue. Two people have been injured in these.

According to the information, the fire started with a blast in the AC on the second floor, due to which the fire spread rapidly. People trapped on the third floor ran towards the terrace but got trapped due to the closed door and burnt to death. The bodies of the deceased have been burnt to such an extent that it is becoming difficult to identify the dead bodies. The fire department said that the bodies of three people were found on the bed, which means that the fire was so severe that they did not even get a chance to get up from the bed and they died due to burning. Police have so far confirmed the death of 9 people and this figure may increase. Councilor Pankaj Luthra said that some bodies have been burnt so badly that only skeletons are left. The dead will be known only after DNA test.

Names of 9 dead revealed, but identification difficult

In this accident, Arvind Jain, his wife Anita Jain, son, Nishant Jain, Anchal Jain (wife Nishank Jain), Akash Jain (son Nishank Jain), who lived on the second floor, died. Shikha Jain, who lived on the first floor, also died. While on the third floor, Nitin Jain, his wife Shaile Jain and son Samyakan Jain died.

Forensic team collected evidence

Forensic team and fire department officials are investigating the cause of the fire. The status of security arrangements in the building is also under investigation. According to local people, there was chaos in the area as soon as the fire broke out. People themselves tried to help in the relief work, but the situation was quite challenging due to the intensity of the fire and smoke. The rescue operation is still going on. 16 people have been rescued. Information about the death of 9 people has come to light.

There were a total of eight flats in Marat

There were a total of eight flats in the building. Four towards the front and four towards the back. It is being told that the people living in the rear flats were the most affected, because the way out from there was limited. People suffocated due to smoke in the room. Some doors of the house were closed due to electronic lock system. The stairs were also narrow, due to which people could not leave the building quickly.
