Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bhoot Bangla’ dominates on third Saturday, preparations to enter Rs 300 crore club
Tezzbuzz Desk – Akshay Kumar is once again creating a stir at the box office with his horror-comedy film. Just as ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, released in 2007, had won the hearts of the audience, now after 18 years, the duo of director Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar seems to be successful in making the audience laugh and scare again through ‘Bhoot Bangla’.
It has been 16 days since the film was released and its earnings still remain strong. The film is getting a great response among the audience, the effect of which is clearly visible on the box office collection.
Tabu is seen in the lead role with Akshay Kumar in ‘Bhoot Bangla’. Apart from this, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Joshi, Vamika Gabbi and veteran comedian Asrani are also seen in important roles in the film. The special thing is that this is considered to be one of Asrani’s last films.
According to box office reports, the film has earned Rs 5.18 crore on the 16th day of its release. Even after two weeks, the film earning more than Rs 5 crore is an indication that the enthusiasm of the audience has not diminished yet.
However, Saturday’s earnings were slightly less as compared to Friday, one of the reasons for which is believed to be the release of ‘Raja Shivaji’. Despite this, there has been no major impact on the pace of ‘Bhoot Bangla’.
The film has collected a net collection of Rs 137 crore in India in 16 days, while the gross collection has reached Rs 162.73 crore. The film has received good response in foreign countries too and its overseas collection has been recorded at Rs 55 crore.
Including all these figures, the worldwide collection of ‘Bhoot Bangla’ has now reached Rs 217.73 crore. Made on a budget of Rs 120 crore, this film has so far earned about Rs 100 crore more than its budget.
Looking at the current pace of the film, it is believed that its earnings may continue for the next two weeks. If the film continues to perform like this, then a worldwide collection of Rs 300 crore will not be difficult for it.
