Mandar Jadhav shares his journey from Hindi TV to Marathi industry: Mandar Jadhav is always in the news as a popular actor in the serial world. Mandar reached the household with the role of Jaideep in the serial Sukh Ishi Nakki Kaya Yata. Mandar used to work in Hindi serials earlier but there came a time when his fortunes really changed. Mandar has told how he got the opportunity to work in Marathi serials.

In an interview, Mandar said that his first serial was ‘Allidan’. He started his acting career from this serial. While Mandar worked in many small and big Hindi serials, he was approached for a lead role in a Marathi serial. He has said that there is a big story behind this too.

Mandar Jadhav first made his debut on the small screen with the serial ‘Allidan’. After that he worked in other serials and crime shows. Similarly, in an interview given to ‘Sarva Ka’, he has told about how he turned to Marathi serials. Mandar has told the story of how he got his first serial ‘Shri Gurudev Dutt’.

Mandar said that ‘Shri Gurudev Dutt’ is his first Marathi serial on Star Pravah channel. He was actually selected for the role of Duttguru in this serial but there was a twist behind that too. Actually it was not Mandar but his brother Meghan who got the call for this serial. But Meghan was already busy with a series so he could not do this series. Then Meghan suggested my name. Meghan said that my brother also works in the same field, you can audition him once.

Mandar further said that there was no problem in working in Marathi but the offers were not coming as expected. Further, Mandar also said that the role was challenging in the first Marathi serial. Because playing Dattaguru onscreen was a big task. But what is written in your destiny happens, so no matter how many difficulties you face, you get what you want.

Mandar further narrated another anecdote that director Santosh Deodhar goes to all the credit for Duttguru’s series. They called me as Meghan told them. I told him sir I want to do a Marathi serial but, I am confused whether I want an entry from a mythological or historical serial. But they took care of me.

Mandar further said, she met producer Deepak Deulkar during the audition. When I went to his office in Andheri, 150 boys had auditioned for the role of Duttguru. There I was given a script, I had done historical, mythological serials in Hindi. So I was used to mythological roles. So I auditioned with confidence. They liked her.

Then they asked me will you remove your shirt and I said sir? They said no we want to see your body. Because in this role, you will not have anything on your body. There will be Rudraksha and Mala. Then I was very hesitant when I took off my shirt. They did records etc. I was fit but not that much. Then I came home. Later I got a call that we are selecting you for the role of Dattaguru. You make your body. get ready And this is how I entered the Marathi industry. So I think it was Dutt Guru’s wish that I play this role.” And even though I have done many Marathi serials today, Dattaguru’s serial will always be close to me.
