Lucknow. A good news may soon emerge for the employees and officers of Uttar Pradesh government. The state government is preparing to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA), which will directly benefit about 16 lakh workers.
How much will the amount increase?
According to the report, a 2 percent increase in dearness allowance is proposed. After its implementation, DA may increase from 58% to 60%. The impact of this increase will be clearly visible on the monthly income of the employees.
When will you get the benefit?
The government plans to include the increased dearness allowance in the salary for the month of May, which will be released in June. This means that employees will soon start getting the benefit of increased salary.
What will happen to the arrears?
The arrears of this increase, which is considered to be applicable from January, will also be given to the employees. However, like before, instead of giving this amount directly in hand, it can be deposited in the GPF account. From May onwards, the increased DA will start being received every month along with the salary.
Approval process continues
The Finance Department has prepared the file related to this proposal. Now it will be sent to the Chief Minister for final approval. Once approved, its formal order will be issued.
Effect of Centre’s decision
Generally, state governments follow the decisions of the central government regarding dearness allowance. Recently, after the increase in DA by the Centre, steps have been taken in the same direction in UP also.
