Rajamouli’s ‘Varanasi’ shooting stopped? 150 water tankers rejected, big crisis

A problem has arisen during the shooting of the upcoming much-awaited film ‘Varanasi’. The director of the film is SS Rajamouli. The film team was shooting in Hyderabad, but the water department there did not provide them the required water. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) completely rejected the film team’s request for 150 water tankers. The film team wanted to build a special set outside the city and film major water scenes there. In these scenes, there were many big scenes immersed in water or filled with water. To film these scenes, he needed a lot of water, that is why he asked for so many tankers. But the water board refused to accept this request.

Officials said that it is extremely hot in Hyderabad these days. Due to the heat, the demand for water in the city has increased a lot. There is already huge pressure on the water supply. In such a situation, such a large number of water tankers cannot be given for non-essential work like film shooting. The main objective of the board is to provide drinking water and water for daily needs to the common people of the city.

What was the impact on the shooting?

Due to this decision, the shooting of those special water scenes of the film ‘Varanasi’ has been affected. These scenes were considered a very important part of the film. The production team of the film had said that they would bear the entire expense of the tankers and would also make the water arrangements themselves, but still the board did not give permission.
