NEET UG 2026 today: More than 22 lakh students will appear for the exam, thousands of centers set up across the country.

New Delhi: The country’s biggest medical entrance examination NEET UG 2026 is being organized today. Preparations for this examination, which gives direction to the careers of lakhs of students, have been completed and extensive security arrangements have been made at the examination centres.

According to National Testing Agency (NTA), about 22.73 lakh candidates will appear in the examination this year. For this, a total of 5,435 examination centers have been set up in 551 cities across the country. The examination is being conducted in India as well as abroad, from which its prevalence can be estimated.

Strict security arrangements

The security arrangements regarding NEET UG 2026 have been made very strict. Physical inspection of examination centres, strong rooms and examination halls has been done in advance. Also, adequate number of police personnel have been deployed to check the candidates during entry and exit.

To further strengthen the investigation process, use of Handheld Metal Detector (HHMD) has been made mandatory, so that any kind of irregularity can be prevented.

Monitoring will be done through AI technology

This time, AI-based tools are also being used to keep an eye on cheating and suspicious activities in the examination. This technology will help in keeping the examination process transparent and fair.

What should students take with them?

Before going to the examination centre, students must keep these important things with them, so that any kind of problem can be avoided:

  • Admit Card (Printed Copy)
  • A valid photo ID proof
  • Passport size photograph (as given in the admit card)
  • transparent water bottle
  • Ordinary pen (if allowed)

Students are advised to follow the prescribed dress code and not carry any prohibited item.

Special train for candidates

A total of 611 examination centers have been created for NEET UG 2026 in Rajasthan. Keeping in mind the convenience of the candidates, North Western Railways has announced the operation of special trains, so that the candidates can reach their examination center on time.
