Tips to Protect Car From Rats News: As summer heats up, not only humans, but animals also want to seek shelter in a cool and safe place. At such times rats often take shelter of parked cars or bikes. Although the problem may seem small from the outside, these rodents can cause serious damage to the car from the inside. Snagging wiring, damaging seat covers or failing key parts in the dashboard can cost motorists thousands of rupees.
Damage and Dangers Caused by Rats
Often, when the car does not start in the morning, when it is taken to the mechanic, it is found that rats have cut the important electrical wiring of the car. These losses are not only financially costly, but also cause emotional distress due to timely travel disruptions. Since rats make their home in the car engine, the risk of short circuit and fire due to the heat there cannot be ruled out.

No need for expensive sprays; ‘These’ home remedies will be effective
There are many expensive chemicals available in the market to keep rats away from cars. However, you can overcome this problem by using items that are easily available at home:
1. Peppermint Oil: Mice have a very sharp sense of smell. Although the smell of mint is pleasant to humans, mice do not tolerate it at all. Soak small cotton balls in peppermint oil and place them in different corners of the car, such as under the seats, near the dashboard and on the side of the engine. This smell works as a natural repellent.
2. Camphor: The strong and pungent smell of camphor does not allow rats to stay in the car. Cut kapar loaves into small pieces and tie them in a net cloth to make a small potli of it. Keep this potty in the trunk of the car, in the glove box or in a safe area of the bonnet. As camphor gradually releases its odor, the area becomes irritating to rats. However, camphor should not be placed on very hot or moving parts of the engine.
3. Use of Tobacco (Tobacco): This indigenous remedy is widely used in rural areas. The strong smell of tobacco irritates rats. The tobacco should be tied in a cloth and small holes should be made in it and this powder should be hung in the engine area or in the corner of the car. Its smell deters rats from roaming around the car. By following these simple measures regularly, you can keep your expensive car safe from rats.
