On May 4, 2026 (Monday), a fall in prices was recorded in the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) as well as in the domestic bullion markets. There is a bearish atmosphere in the futures markets from America to India today, due to which the faces of the customers have blossomed. Gold prices on MCX today closed at Rs 151,083 per 10 grams, while silver touched Rs 251,194 per kg.
How much did MCX fall?
Last Friday, gold on MCX had closed at Rs 151,363 per 10 grams and silver was at Rs 251,000 per kg. When the market opened today, gold was in a declining trend right from the beginning. Whereas silver initially showed a slight rise, but by the time the market closed, it also slipped and came to Rs 250,730 per kg.

Wedding season is at its peak in India, where prices of jewelery usually skyrocket due to increased demand. This decline at such a time is a relief for those families who have to make huge purchases. Silver is far below record high
Talking about silver, last week it had increased by about ₹ 5,000, but this week has started with a decline. Interestingly, silver is still trading at Rs 169,270 below its all-time high (Rs 420,000). Today, in cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, the price of 1 kg silver is close to Rs 2,65,000, while in Chennai it has reached Rs 2,69,900 per kg.

Today the prices of gold in different cities of the country are as follows:
Condition of capital Delhi and Bhopal: Today in Delhi, 24-carat gold is available at Rs 1,51,130 per 10 grams. Whereas 22-carat gold is being sold at the price of Rs 1,38,500 and 18-carat gold is being sold at the price of Rs 1,13,500. Prices are almost similar in Bhopal too, where 24-carat gold is available at Rs 1,51,030.
Mumbai and Kolkata prices: The price of 24-carat gold in Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru was recorded at Rs 1,50,930. In these cities, 22-carat gold remains stable at Rs 1,38,350 and 18-carat gold at Rs 1,13,200 per 10 grams.
Chennai most expensive in South India: Prices in Hyderabad are at par with Mumbai, but gold is being sold a little more expensive in Chennai. The price of 24-carat gold in Chennai has reached Rs 1,52,720 per 10 grams, while the price of 18-carat gold here is at Rs 1,16,790.
