Himmat Singh, Markram Power LSG to 228/5 After Pooran’s Blitz
A decent partnership from Himmat Singh and Aiden Markram set up Lucknow Super Giants to post 228 runs in the IPL 2026 game played against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede.
The duo’s 68-run partnership in the end, despite a pull back from Mumbai Indians bowlers in Monday’s clash.
After being invited to bat first, Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis opened the innings while Deepak Chahar opened the bowling attack.
The duo made a decent start, before AM Ghazanfar bagged the wicket of Josh Inglis 13 runs. The wk-batter tried for a pull shot but did not connect well and went to mid on where Suryakumar Yadav took the catch safely.
Nicholas Pooran who came to bat at No.3, went on to deal with maximums as the side scored 90 runs in the powerplay.

He fifty came from 16 deliveries which included 7 sixes and 1 four. Mumbai Indians bowlers had no answers for Pooran’s aggression.
On the other hand, Mitchell Marsh have been keeping up with Pooran scoring at 180+ strike rate. He got dismissed for 63 runs on a delivery from Corbin Bosch. He got dismissed on extra pace delivery and Ryan Rickelton picked the catch behind the wickets.
His knock included 8 sixes and 1 four. Rishabh Pant came to bat at No.4 and Corbin Bosch picked his second wicket dismissing Mitchell Marsh for 44 runs. He got dismissed on a catch took by Naman Dhir at Mid-wicket.

Soon, Will Jacks got his first wicket dismissing Rishabh Pant for 15 runs. He was caught out behind the wickets by Ryan Rickelton.
On the other hand, Raghu Sharma bagged the wicket of Akshat Raghuwanshi for 11 runs as Lucknow Super Giants lost 5 wickets for 160 runs.
However, Aiden Markram and Himmat Singh are slowly building an innings aiming to post a massive total against Mumbai Indians.
By the end of 20 overs, Aiden Markram (31) and Himmat Singh (40) remained unbeaten as LSG scored 228 runs for 5 wickets.
Corbin Bosch picked two wickets while AM Ghazanfar, Will Jacks and Raghu Sharma bagged one wicket each.
