Minister Rawat attacks Govind Dotasara, blames Congress
In Udaipur, Rajasthan, Minister Suresh Singh Rawat launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Govind Singh Dotasra, calling him a “drum of lies”. He accused Congress of spreading confusion and not playing the role of opposition properly.
Udaipur; Rajasthan Water Resources Department Minister Suresh Rawat, while talking to journalists at the Circuit House in Udaipur, made a scathing attack on Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasra and opposition parties. He accused the opposition of spreading confusion and doing false politics.
Minister Rawat said that the opposition should play its role responsibly, but currently some leaders are trying to mislead the public by ignoring the facts. He said that the state government is working completely in public interest and does not come under any kind of political pressure.
Direct accusation on Dotasara, question on role of opposition
Minister Suresh Rawat said in his statement that Govind Singh Dotasara is a “drum of lies” and keeps making statements without verifying the facts. According to him, opposition leaders make statements throughout the day based on the opinions of different people, which creates confusion.
Rawat said that in a democracy, the job of the opposition is to give suggestions to the government and highlight its shortcomings, but at present the Congress party is doing politics of spreading confusion instead of talking on development issues.
He also said that he himself has been in the opposition before, hence he has full understanding of the role of the opposition. But the present opposition is not fulfilling its responsibility properly.
Claim of government’s development works
Enumerating the achievements of Bhajan Lal government, Minister Rawat said that this government is working in the interest of farmers, general public and development. He claimed that good governance is being given priority in the state and development projects are being implemented on a large scale.
He said that the aim of the government is only to speed up the development works and provide permanent solutions to the problems of the people.
Emphasis on big project in water resources sector
Suresh Rawat also gave information about a big project related to water resources in Udaipur and surrounding areas. He said that the plan of water diversion from Jakham Dam to Jaisamand Lake, from Jaisamand to Badgaon Dam, from Badgaon to Matrikundiya Dam and further to Meja Dam was proposed for a long time.
For this project, the state government has approved about Rs 12.5 crore for DPR (Detail Project Report) under the budget announcement. The minister said that the total cost of the project is estimated to be around Rs 10,000 crore.
He said that the DPR is almost complete and it is being sent to the Central Water Commission (CWC) for approval. As soon as the approval is received, work on this project will be started expeditiously.
This project will not only strengthen the irrigation system but will also solve the problem of drinking water.
Approval of crores of rupees on irrigation projects
The Minister said that during the last two years in Udaipur region, works worth Rs 678 crore have been sanctioned through the Irrigation Department. A budget of Rs 275 crore has been released for the year 2026-27.
He said that in the last two and a half years, irrigation projects at a total cost of about Rs 900 crore are going on in the area, which are important for agricultural production and water management.
Dewas Project and other development works
Suresh Rawat said that work is also going on on Dewas Third and Dewas Fourth projects. However, forest department permission (NOC) is pending at some places, due to which some works are being delayed.
He said that in areas where there are no forest related obstacles, the work is being carried forward rapidly. Tunnel construction work has started and infrastructure is also being prepared for dam construction.
The government’s effort is to take the project forward at full speed as soon as all approvals are received.
Bagolia and Khari Feeder Projects
The Minister also mentioned the Bagolia Feeder Project in Mavli area. He said that this project of about Rs 200 crore will provide irrigation facility to 3700 hectares of land.
Apart from this, Khari Feeder Project is being developed in Rajsamand at a cost of Rs 121 crore, which is considered an important development project for the area.
Comment on national and international politics
At the end of his statement, Minister Rawat made a political comment and said that the position of Bharatiya Janata Party is getting stronger in some states of the country. He claimed that there is a possibility of political change even in an important state like Bengal, while in Assam the BJP government is again in a strong position.
