PM Modi to visit 4 European countries in May, India’s global power will get a new flight
Tezzbuzz Desk – Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to go on a big diplomatic visit to four important countries of Europe in mid-May 2026. According to the proposed programme, PM Modi will visit Netherlands from 15 to 17 May, Sweden on 17 May, Norway from 17 to 19 May and Italy from 19 to 20 May.
This visit to four countries is being considered very important from the point of view of India’s foreign policy. During this period, many big issues like bilateral relations, trade, technical cooperation, green energy, defense partnership and strategic cooperation are likely to be discussed. Experts believe that this tour will give a new direction to the strengthening relations between India and Europe.
Relations between India and European countries have continuously strengthened in the last few years. After changing equations in global politics and loss of trust with America, European countries are looking at India as a reliable and strong partner in Asia. In such a situation, this visit of PM Modi is considered very important.
India has strong diplomatic, economic and strategic relations with the four countries Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy. Netherlands is considered to be India’s largest trading partner in the EU, while Italy is at the fourth position. At the same time, cooperation with Sweden and Norway in areas like semiconductor, green technology, water management, defense and climate change is increasing rapidly.
Experts say that this visit can give India new possibilities in the field of global supply chain, defense production and technological investment. Besides, the strategic partnership with Europe will also become stronger.
India’s growing global influence can also be gauged from several high-profile meetings held recently. Christian Stocker paid an official visit to India from 14 to 17 April 2026. This was his first major international visit, in which he held a bilateral meeting with PM Modi.
Apart from this, Annalena Baerbock, who has also previously been the Foreign Minister of Germany, came to India on 27-28 April 2026. He met Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and discussed many global issues.
