Chennai : There was tension at the Chennai International Airport after a passenger jumped out of the emergency door of the plane during taxiing. The security guards have arrested and detained the concerned passenger. The name of this passenger who jumped from the emergency door of the plane is Mohammad Nizamuddin Sharif. Officials are interrogating the passenger and his mental condition is also being examined.
An Air Arabia flight with 231 passengers arrived in Chennai from Sharjah on Sunday morning. When the plane was moving on the taxiway (the road connecting the runway and the terminal), the 34-year-old man on board suddenly opened the emergency door. On learning about the incident, the pilot immediately stopped the plane and alerted the authorities. On receiving the information, Central Industrial Security Force personnel, bomb detection squad and armed officers rushed to the spot. The pilot filed a complaint with the authorities regarding this incident.
These are used by aircraft emergency only for the safe and speedy evacuation of passengers in emergency situations. Using them unnecessarily is not only inappropriate, but can cause serious problems and danger.
Airport operations disrupted for some time
During interrogation, Mohammad Nizamuddin Sharif gave contradictory statements and claimed that he jumped from the plane because he was afraid that someone would kill him. This behavior increased the suspicion of security officials. After that they have started investigation from all sides to ascertain the real identity of Mohammad Nizamuddin Sharif. Meanwhile, due to this incident, the operations of the airport were disrupted for some time.
