IPL 2026 DC vs CSK Playing 11: Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals will square off against Ruturaj Gaikwad-led Chennai Super Kings in the 48th match of the IPL 2026 on May 05 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
Both sides had a mixed campaign in the ongoing season and are aiming for a win in the upcoming game to keep their qualification chances alive.
Last time, Chennai Super Kings secured a 23-run victory in the game. With four wins each out of 9 games, CSK and DC are in the 6th and 7th position of the IPL 2026 points table.
Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals have met on 32 occasions where CSK have 20 wins while DC have 12 victories.
Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bat. Speaking at the toss, DC captain Axar Patel said, “We will bat first. (on the surface) It looks good. If it slows down in the 2nd innings, I want to give that advantage to my bowlers.
(on the mid table clash) The way the tournament is going it is an important game. You need to think about how you are playing and not take too much pressure from the points table.
(on playing to potential) “Ifs or buts are part of the game. I am happy with both batting and bowling departments. If we fielded well, we would have been in a better place. One change, Lungi Ngidi is fit so he replaces Kyle Jamieson,” concluded Axar Patel.

CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said, “We were looking to bowl first. Looks a bit dry. I don;t think it will change much. Batting or bowling, it won’t matter much.
“I think since the first 3 games of the tournament, we have been improving in all departments. Bowling has been good. Batting is clicking slowly slowly. Last game was good for us. But it’s a fresh game for us.”
“It’s a good sign for us as a franchise as well. Some good youngsters coming in and repaying the faith shown on them.”
“As Ghosh got injured last game, we had to tinker our combination a bit. Akeal Hosein comes in and Gurjapneet comes in as well,” concluded Ruturaj Gaikwad.
