OpenAI’s first AI smartphone: Preparation to compete with Apple-Samsung by 2027
Knews Desk– openAI is no longer limited to just chatbots, but the company is working on its first AI smartphone, which can be launched in the market by 2027. According to reports, this phone will be completely based on AI agent, in which users will not need to open different apps, rather many tasks will be completed directly through AI.
According to tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, OpenAI is rapidly advancing the development of its AI agent phone and its mass production may begin in the first half of 2027. This device is being considered as a challenge for big brands like Apple and Samsung in future.
According to leaked information, this smartphone has been partnered with MediaTek and Qualcomm, but MediaTek has been chosen as the main supplier for the processor. The chipset of the phone may be based on Dimensity 9600, which will be manufactured with 2nm-level TSMC N2P technology. This AI phone is expected to have advanced features like dual-NPU architecture, LPDDR6 memory and UFS 5.0 storage. Also, technologies like pKVM and inline hashing will be used for security, which will strengthen data security.

Experts believe that AI will work like a personal assistant by understanding the location, activity and communication data of phone users. This can completely change the use of smartphones. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, if the project is completed on time, it could lead to shipments of around 30 million units by 2027-2028. OpenAI is trying to create a new AI ecosystem through this phone, in which hardware and subscription model will be combined.
