Odisha Investors Meet Ahmedabad: A New Era Begins

In a powerful pitch that blended vision, culture, and hard economics, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday told a packed house of industry leaders that the eastern state is now fully prepared to drive India’s next wave of industrial growth.

“Gujarat has powered India’s west. Odisha is now ready to power India’s east — offering scale, speed, and strategic access to the next frontier of growth,” CM Majhi declared at the Odisha Investors’ Meet Roadshow here. Addressing over 500 business leaders, industry associations, and institutional stakeholders, he positioned Odisha as the cornerstone of the Centre’s Purvodaya vision for balanced regional development.

The high-energy roadshow marked the first leg of the Chief Minister’s multi-city investor outreach. Accompanied by a senior delegation that included Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) Hemant Sharma, Majhi chaired 26 high-level one-on-one meetings and two sectoral roundtables — one focused on textiles — signalling Odisha’s proactive, investor-first approach.

The Chief Minister drew on deep cultural ties to strike an emotional chord. “From the sacred land of Lord Jagannath in Puri to the revered Dwarka of Gujarat, our states share enduring civilisational bonds,” he said, adding that Gujarat’s textile leadership now has a strong eastern partner in Odisha’s emerging ecosystem of skilled manpower, modern infrastructure, and progressive policies.

Majhi repeatedly highlighted Odisha’s unique geographic advantage: a 480-km coastline, multiple operational ports, and direct access to the Bay of Bengal and the fast-growing Indo-Pacific corridor. “For industries looking ahead, Odisha presents not just an opportunity, but a long-term competitive advantage,” he stressed.

He also assured investors of a governance model built on trust and delivery. “Investors come where there is trust in intent, in systems, and in leadership. In Odisha, intent translates into action through transparency, responsiveness, and on-ground delivery.”

Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain reinforced the message, describing Odisha as a “future-ready industrial hub” backed by stable policies, port-led logistics, and a strong commitment to sustainable and inclusive growth.

The Ahmedabad event is the first in a series of targeted roadshows aimed at accelerating industrial investment and strengthening industry connect. With focused dialogues across established and sunrise sectors, the roadshow has already generated strong interest and positive feedback from participants.

Odisha’s message was clear and confident: the east is rising — and the state is open for business.
