The first Monday of May saw the biggest fashion event, the Met Gala. With the annual exhibition, Costume Art that focuses on the materiality of the dressed body and the connection between fashion, meets art and painting, the red carpet was filled with all sorts of looks, from diamonds, paint, wax, statues and whatnot. While the theme was art, only Indian celebs got the theme right; surprisingly, many Hollywood celebs hopped on to barely-there ensembles, naked dressing, with nip shows and bra corsets. It was the Kardashians who made a head-turning appearance on the runway.
The gala’s broad dress code, “Fashion Is Art,” wasn’t followed by many.

Kylie Jenner frees the nips and eyebrows
Kylie Jenner, who appeared in Schiaparelli, wore an upper half that was a nude-toned, strapless bodysuit sitting close to the skin, creating an illusion of barely there. She paired it with a voluminous skirt, embroidered with pale florals and botanical motifs, unfolded in cream and ivory, styled with a diamond choker and softened by loose waves and bleached brows.
Kendall Jenner follows her sisters
Kendall Jenner appeared in a custom GapStudio piece by Zac Posen, referencing the Winged Victory of Samothrace, one of the most enduring sculptural forms in Western art. She also had a nip show and a nude corset.
Kim Kardashian wears a breastplate with a nipple-forward look
Even Kim Kardashian went for a nipple-forward look, wearing a tangerine fiberglass breastplate with pointed tips that was made using a repurposed cast from the 1960s.
Gigi Hadid flaunts her underwear
Gigi Hadid’s underwear was on display in a fully sheer Met Gala gown. The outfit was bold, a sheer evening gown with a sleek, body-hugging silhouette, the dark charcoal or black tone, subtly embellished with fine shimmer. Underneath, she wore matching high-waisted briefs, clearly visible through the dress.
The gown featured intricate, abstract embellishments around the neckline and torso.
