Sudhir Mishra-Swanand Kirkire together again in ‘Summer of 77’, emergency story alive with music!
Famous writer, lyricist and musician Swanand Kirkire and veteran filmmaker Sudhir Mishra will once again work together in the upcoming political drama series ‘Summer of 77’. In this episode, Swanand Kirkire shared his experience of working with Sudhir Mishra.
Swanand Kirkire described his experience of working with Sudhir Mishra as very special. He said, “Sudhir Mishra presents the story with honesty and depth, which gives him a distinct identity. Working with such a director is always a learning experience, because he understands every aspect sensitively and brings it on screen in the same way.”
Before this, Swanand and Sudhir Mishra have worked together in many memorable projects. The popular song ‘Bawra Man’ from ‘Hazaron Khwahish Aisi’ and the film ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’ are examples of his successful works.
Swanand said, “‘Summer of 77’ is the fifth project of me and Sudhir Mishra. Sudhir’s specialty is that he gives full space to music in his films. In today’s times, where music often remains just a formality, Sudhir makes it an important part of the story. When a director trusts music, a musician also gets inspired to do something new.”
Talking about the story of ‘Summer of 77’, it is based on the Emergency period from 1975 to 1977. This series has eight episodes, which will show the audience the thinking of the youth of that era, their rebellion, their dreams and their search for identity.
Swanand said, “After my previous film ‘Bandwale’, I was looking for a project in which music would be a part of the story. ‘Summer of 77’ provided this opportunity. It is not easy to make music for such a story, because it is important to capture the spirit of that period.
