Orange Cap, Purple Cap Holder in IPL 2026: KL Rahul gets Orange Cap, Bhuvneshwar’s claim on Purple Cap remains intact

Orange Cap and Purple Cap Holder List in IPL 2026: After the 48th match of IPL 2026 played between Delhi and Chennai, the face of the Orange Cap has also changed. After this match, the Orange Cap now belongs to KL Rahul. There was no change in the purple cap. There, like before, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s claim seemed intact. However, Chennai Super Kings bowler Anshul Kamboj had a chance to overtake Bhuvneshwar and win the Purple Cap, but he lost it.

KL Rahul overtook Abhishek Sharma

Till the DC vs CSK match, the orange cap of IPL 2026 was on the head of Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Abhishek Sharma. But, after that match, it became the name of Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul. KL Rahul has overtaken Abhishek Sharma by a slight margin of 5 runs in the race for most runs in IPL 2026. This is the reason why an orange cap adorns his head.

Won Orange Cap after scoring 12 runs against CSK

Abhishek Sharma has 440 runs in 10 matches. Whereas, KL Rahul has scored 445 runs in the same number of matches. KL Rahul’s batting was slow against Chennai Super Kings. He scored 12 runs on 13 balls. But, his 12 runs scored at a slow pace were enough to take him ahead of Abhishek Sharma in the run race and get the Orange Cap.

Kamboj missed the chance to win Purple Cap

Talking about the purple cap, it is still adorning the head of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has 17 wickets in his name in 9 matches, which he took at an average of 15.52 and economy of 7.54. Against Delhi Capitals, CSK’s Anshul Kamboj gave 49 runs in 4 overs and did not take any wicket. His failure in the match stopped him from donning the purple cap. This was Anshul Kamboj’s 10th match in IPL 2026, but his number of wickets is the same as before, 17, which he took at an average of 18.70 and economy of 8.91.
