Delhi High Court took a big decision against Kejriwal and Sisodia
Arvind kejriwal: Delhi High Court on Tuesday took a very important stand in the CBI case related to excise policy. The court has taken a major decision to appoint ‘Amicus Curiae’ i.e. amicus curiae to assist in the hearing of the case. This decision came when the three main accused in the case, Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Durgesh Pathak were not present in the court during the hearing. The bench of Justice Swarnakanta Sharma made it clear that the court itself will now seek assistance to prevent delay in the legal process and maintain impartiality of justice.
Appointment of amicus to assist the court
In fact, the Central Bureau of Investigation has challenged the decision of the lower court in which these leaders were acquitted. When the debate on this petition started in the High Court, the court took a tough stance in view of the absence of the parties concerned. The court believes that in such a sensitive and high-profile case, the proceedings cannot be postponed indefinitely, hence the legal nuances will now be examined with the help of amicus.
Arvind Kejriwal: Right to file reply ended
During this hearing, the court issued another strict order which may increase the problems of the leaders. The court has completely abolished the right of the three leaders to file replies. Justice Sharma bluntly said that now if any reply is presented by these leaders, it will not be taken on official record. This step has been taken with the aim of saving court time and expediting the hearing.
Next hearing date fixed
Arvind kejriwal: This case, which has created a stir in Delhi politics, has now been listed for next hearing on May 8. Due to the involvement of names of senior leaders of Aam Aadmi Party in this case related to excise policy, the eyes of the entire country are fixed on it. After the appointment of Amicus Curiae, it will be interesting to see what new twists come in the debate to be held on May 8 and the court will decide on the arguments of CBI. Of What attitude remains?
