According to the Meteorological Department forecast, gusty winds of 40 to 50 kmph are expected over North India including Delhi-NCR, while thundershowers and hail are likely over East Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Odisha. Heavy rain warning has also been issued for many parts of the country. However, after this temporary respite, there are signs of a sharp rise in temperature, which could lead to another flare-up of heat. Many parts of North India including Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi-NCR are likely to experience thundershowers with gusty winds of 40 to 50 kmph.

Meanwhile, dust storms and light rains are likely during this period, which will provide short-term relief. Thunderstorm with hail is forecast over East Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Odisha. Gusty winds of 50 to 60 km per hour are also likely over Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha and East Uttar Pradesh.
Signs of severe temperature fluctuations
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in northwest India is likely to increase by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius till May 9, and the heat is likely to rise again after some relief. Meanwhile, the temperature in Central India is likely to decrease by 2 to 3 degrees till May 6, after which it will remain stable.
Humid climate in some parts
Humid weather may persist in some parts of Andhra Pradesh. Although no heat wave is currently forecast for most parts of the country, the gradual rise in temperature may intensify the heat wave in the coming days.
