Employees have fun! Under the new Labor Code, now there will be free full body checkup every year, know how

A wonderful news has come out for crores of employees and laborers of India. The new Labor Codes of the Central Government are now going to become a reality. In this series, Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is going to launch a historic ‘Annual Health Check-up Initiative’ for workers across the country on 7 May 2026. Now you will not have to worry about huge hospital bills to get your body checked.

Big campaign is starting from tomorrow: It will start from Delhi

The formal launch of this special scheme will be done from ESIC Medical College and Hospital (Basaidarapur) located in Delhi. But it is not just for the people of Delhi to be happy; This mega campaign will be launched simultaneously in 11 other big ESIC hospitals of the country in the presence of local ministers and MPs. The government aims to bring health facilities within the reach of every worker.

Who will get the benefit of this free service?

Under the new Labor Code, health protection has now been made a legal right of workers. Some of its main rules are as follows:

• Big relief for those 40 plus: If you are 40 years of age or older, the government is guaranteeing you a free health checkup every year.
• Special rules for those doing dangerous work: There is no age limit for workers who work with chemicals, poisonous gases or heavy machines. They will get the facility of mandatory checkup every year.
• There will be surgical strike on diseases in advance: The biggest advantage of this initiative is that cancer, diabetes and serious lung diseases will be detected in the early stages, making treatment easy and accurate.
• Features of digital health record: Now the fear of losing papers will end. The complete record of the health of every laborer will be kept digitally, so that any time in future, during treatment, the old report can be seen immediately.

PM Modi’s ‘Shramev Jayate’ vision: Gig workers also suffer

Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Shramev Jayate’ vision, these new labor codes have been created by abolishing 29 old and complex laws. Their objective is not only to benefit the companies but also to provide social security to the workers. Under the Social Security Code, 2020, for the first time, unorganized sector workers, gig workers (like delivery boys of Zomato-Swiggy) and platform workers are also being brought under the ambit of ESIC benefits.

‘Developed India’ will be created only by healthy workers

It is often seen that the working class ignores minor problems due to lack of money, which later turn into fatal diseases. This free testing scheme of the government will not only prolong the life of the workers, but will also strengthen the dream of ‘Developed India 2047’.
