West Bengal Election Results 2026 Live: The counting of votes for the assembly elections of five states including West Bengal will be held today (May 04). The states where the election results will be announced include the Union Territories of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry.

West Bengal has 294 assembly seats, out of which only 293 seats will be counted. Voting was done in two phases. The first phase was conducted on April 23 for 152 seats, while the second phase was conducted on April 29 for 142 seats. Mamata Banerjee is trying to come to power here for the fourth time in a row, while the BJP is fighting for power this time. About 92 percent voting took place in this election. Attention is focused on the Bhawanipur constituency, where Mamata Banerjee herself is contesting, and is being challenged by BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari.
