CM Mohan said – every grain of produce is precious, delay in payment cannot be tolerated

The result of the farmer friendly policies of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and the activism of the Mandi Board is that on the appeal of Agricultural Produce Market Committee Chaurai, orders have been issued by the High Court Jabalpur to pay the amount of Rs 96 lakh 51 thousand 500 to 64 farmers for the produce sold by them. Chief Minister Yadav has said that injustice to farmers in the state will not be tolerated at any cost.

Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Mandi Committee took immediate action on non-payment of notified agricultural produce purchased from farmers by the licensed firm Gyanashree Traders, Chaurai, registered in Chaurai. Court issued RRC for recovery from the firm by Tehsildar, Chaurai. Rs 96,51,500 were recovered from the tax and the amount was deposited in the account of the Mandi Committee.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Yadav, Managing Director of MP State Agricultural Marketing Board Kumar Purushottam took immediate action and after not getting permission from the Civil Court/District Court, a petition was filed on behalf of the Mandi Committee through an advocate in the High Court, Jabalpur. The Honorable High Court passed a decision in the interest of farmers on 30 April 2026 and approved the payment.

The Chief Minister said that every grain of the produce is valuable. Transparency and timely payment in the market system is our priority. He has instructed the officials of the Mandi Board that all the Mandi Committees of the state should ensure that there is no negligence in the payment of farmers under any circumstances. Payment for purchased agricultural produce should be made within the time limit.

Special instructions have been issued by the Mandi Board to all Mandi Secretaries that farmers’ interest is paramount and strict action will be taken against negligence. As per the order of the Honorable High Court, the process of payment to the farmers will be done by the Mandi Committee Chaurai within the time limit.
