Akhilesh met Mamata Banerjee after the Bengal defeat, wearing a shawl said – “Didi, you did not lose… you fought bravely”

Kolkata. After the defeat of Trinamool Congress and massive victory of BJP in the West Bengal Assembly elections, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav reached Kolkata, where he met Mamata Banerjee. This was the first meeting of the two leaders after the end of the 15-year-old TMC rule in Bengal.

During this, Akhilesh Yadav boosted the morale of Mamata Banerjee and said that “Didi” has always been irritating the BJP. He said that even though the election figures were not in favor this time, Mamata Banerjee fought like a true warrior.

During the meeting, Mamata Banerjee herself reached the gate to welcome Akhilesh Yadav, while Abhishek Banerjee greeted him with a hug. Akhilesh Yadav honored Mamata Banerjee by covering her with a shawl and said, “Didi, you are not defeated.”

Praising the electoral struggle of Mamata and Abhishek Banerjee, Akhilesh said that the strength and fighting spirit with which both the leaders contested the elections is praiseworthy.

BJP’s historic victory in Bengal elections-
This time a big political upheaval was seen in the 294-member West Bengal Assembly. BJP made a historic performance by winning 207 seats and captured power in the state by securing two-thirds majority.

With this, TMC’s 15-year-old rule in Bengal came to an end.

At the same time, Mamata Banerjee’s party TMC was reduced to just 80 seats. After the election defeat, Mamata Banerjee has now indicated to put all her strength into strengthening the ‘India’ alliance.
