Tribute to former MP Pandit Uma Kant Mishra, speakers called him man of the era

A tribute meeting and symposium was organized ceremoniously in Barodha Kathar, the ancestral village of former Drummondganj MP Pandit Umakant Mishra. In the program, public representatives of the area, leaders of political parties and people from different districts paid emotional tribute to his portrait by offering flowers.

The program was inaugurated by his cousin Devdutt Mishra, nephew Anurag Mishra and Indradev Mishra by lighting the lamp. After this, the speakers threw light on the personality and work of the former MP in detail. Addressing the program, former MLA and former District Panchayat President Bhagwati Prasad Chaudhary said that Pandit Umakant Mishra was rich in versatile talent. He practiced politics of equality for all religions and public service throughout his life.

Said that while in Parliament, he had surprised everyone by giving a long speech in Sanskrit language. Akhileshwar Tripathi said that there is a lot to be counted in the district due to the efforts of Pandit Umakant Mishra, who is concerned about the entire society. Senior Congress leader Shashi Bhushan Dubey said that his political life was very glorious. SP leader Ashok Kumar Mishra said that Pandit ji’s entire life was dedicated to social service.

At the end of the program, Anurag Mishra, General Secretary of Youth Congress Eastern Uttar Pradesh, expressed his gratitude to all the guests and honored them by presenting them with Angavastra. On this occasion, Joint Magistrate Lalganj Mahendra Kumar Singh and a large number of people from Halia, Lalganj and city areas were present. Everyone paid tribute to Pandit Umakant Mishra by offering flowers on his portrait. The entire program was conducted by Vinay Kumar Dubey.
