Suspense on government formation in Tamil Nadu: Vijay will meet the Governor for the third time today, got support from these parties including Congress-VCK

Chennai. Political turmoil has intensified regarding the formation of the new government in Tamil Nadu. Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay will meet Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Friday evening. It is believed that this meeting will be very important to end the deadlock in government formation and stake claim to majority.

Claim to reach majority mark-
According to sources, TVK has now got the necessary support to form the government. Apart from five seats of Congress, the party has received the support of two seats each from VCK, CPM and CPI. With the support of these allies, Vijay has claimed to reach the majority figure of 118 seats.

Third meeting with the Governor-
This will be the third meeting of Vijay and Governor Arlekar. Earlier in the meetings held on Wednesday and Thursday, the Governor had not accepted TVK’s claim saying that the party did not have clear majority support.

Big upset in the very first election fight-
Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam performed brilliantly in its very first assembly elections, winning 107 out of 234 seats. With this victory, the party has posed a major challenge to the 62-year-old dominance of DMK and AIADMK in Tamil Nadu politics.
