Comprehensive action plan prepared for development of ghat

Under the project, a comprehensive action plan has been prepared for the development of Akrur Ghat. In this sequence, sheet piling will be done up to 30 meters length, 14 meters and five meters depth. To connect both the sheet piles, 45 mm diameter anchor bar will be installed every three meters. Apart from this, a five meter wide bathing platform will be constructed.

Red stones will be installed on the stairs of the ghat. To ensure adequate water availability at the ghat, a 220 meter long channel will also be dug, along with slope pitching work will be done in the upstream and downstream parts, so that the structure of the ghat remains strong and safe.

Shri Krishna was not an ordinary child

Akrur Ghat situated on the banks of Yamuna on the Mathura-Vrindavan road has mythological significance. It is believed that when Akrur ji was going to Mathura with Shri Krishna and Balram on the call of Kansa, then while resting at this place while taking bath in Yamuna, he had a divine vision of Shri Krishna and Balram in the four-armed form of Lord Vishnu inside the water. This supernatural experience made Akrur ji believe that Shri Krishna was not an ordinary child, but the incarnation of Narayana himself. This is the reason why Akrur Ghat still remains a holy place full of deep faith and mystery for the devotees.

Easy transportation from Mathura railway station and bus stand.

Mathura railway station is the major arrival point for passengers coming from other states, where most of the trains stop.
