IPL 2026: Finn Allen becomes the first batsman to do so for New Zealand in T20 cricket

On the basis of a stormy century innings by Finn Allen (100 not out), Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Delhi Capitals by eight wickets in the 51st league match of the 19th season of the Indian Premier League. KKR team had a target of 143 runs in this match and they achieved it in 14.2 overs at the loss of only two wickets.

New Zealand’s Finn Allen, who was the biggest hero of this one-sided victory of KKR, completed his century in just 47 balls, in which he also hit 10 sixes along with 5 fours. On the basis of this inning, Finn Allen has achieved an achievement which till now no New Zealand player had been able to do in T20 cricket. He has now become the first player from the Kiwi team who has managed to play three century innings in a year in T20 cricket.

This star batsman of the Kiwi team has played a century innings while playing for Perth Scorchers earlier this year. He also played a century in the semi-final match against South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2026. Now the century he scored against Delhi Capitals is his third century in T20 this year.
KKR scored the fastest century
Finn Allen broke Sunil Narine’s record with his century. He has become the batsman to score the fastest century for KKR in IPL. Sunil Narine had earlier scored a century in 49 balls in the match against Rajasthan Royals in the year 2024.
