Israel attacks Lebanon again in violation of the ceasefire, killing at least 20
Israel attacked Lebanon again in violation of the ceasefire. Since Thursday, various towns in southern Lebanon have been attacked continuously. A statement issued by Lebanon’s health ministry said four people were killed in an attack on Friday. Two of them are women. In another attack, two children and a medical worker, a rescuer were killed. Another statement from the country’s health department cited 11 deaths in three villages in Nabatieh district alone. All in all, war is on the brink again in West Asia.
After the US-Israeli joint attack on Iran on February 28, the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, supported by Tehran, exploded. They started shelling Israel in retaliation. Tel Aviv responded in turn. They launched missile and air strikes on a wide area, including Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. But the attack did not stop. 30 other countries, including India, expressed concern about the issue. The death toll in Lebanon has exceeded 2,000 in Israeli attacks. Recently, US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel.
One of the reasons for not establishing peace in Lebanon is the Iran-US conflict. Because, still the two countries could not come to any solution. Through mediators, Tehran has informed the US that two conditions must be met in order to sit in the nuclear talks. First, the war in Iran and Lebanon must be stopped completely. Besides, it must be ensured that no new conflicts arise. Second, the blockade that America has built on the Strait of Hormuz should be lifted. But so far no such situation has arisen. As a result, there is no possibility of ending the conflict. Instead, Israel is increasing its attacks again.
