Sheikh Hasina Congratulates Suvendu Adhikari : BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari is receiving congratulations from India and abroad on becoming the new CM of West Bengal. In this episode, former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina has congratulated Adhikari on taking oath as the CM of Bengal. A statement has also been issued by Sheikh Hasina’s party Awami League.

According to the statement issued by Sheikh Hasina’s party, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina congratulated Shuvendu Adhikari on being elected Chief Minister of West Bengal, India. Sheikh Hasina, in her congratulatory message, said, “On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Bangladesh, I extend my hearty congratulations and best wishes to Subhendu Adhikari on the landslide victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the West Bengal Assembly elections in India and on assuming charge as the Chief Minister of the state.”
The statement further read – “This decision of the people of West Bengal is an expression of their deep love for the strong and people-friendly leadership of Shuvendu Adhikari. West Bengal has a unique role in the history of true friendship between Bangladesh and India. I believe that under his leadership, our common relationship based on language, culture and traditional ties will touch new heights in the future.”
“As neighbours, we always wish for the prosperity and peace of West Bengal. I am hopeful that during the tenure of Shri Subhendu Adhikari, the long tradition of mutual cooperation between us will be further strengthened and we will continue to work as partners for the common development and welfare of the people of Bengal.” Hasina also said, “I wish Subhendu Adhikari and all the newly elected ministers of West Bengal continued success, good health and longevity, and extend my good wishes to all the citizens of West Bengal.”

In a congratulatory message, the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Awami League said, “The decision of the people of West Bengal is a unique recognition of the strong leadership of Shuvendu Adhikari. We are confident that the relations between Bangladesh and West Bengal based on shared history, language and culture will touch new heights in this new journey.” The statement further said that as a neighboring country, Bangladesh has a long history of genuine friendship and cooperation with India. This bilateral relationship and the pace of mutual development will further accelerate during the tenure of the newly elected government of West Bengal.
“The Bangladesh Awami League wishes success and good health to Subhendu Adhikari and all members of the Cabinet, and continues peace and prosperity for the people of West Bengal.”
