Path clear for Vijay government in Tamil Nadu, majority crossed with the support of VCK

The picture of government formation under the leadership of actor-turned-politician Vijay is clearly visible. VCK also announced its support to TVK, after which the alliance reached the majority mark. VCK chief Thole. In fact, Vijay had been continuously meeting Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar for the last three days and staking his claim to form the government. In the initial phase he had the support of only 116 MLAs. The Governor had made it clear that invitation for government formation cannot be given without completing the required figure of 118. After this, talks with allies intensified.

TVK first got the support of Congress, Congress has 5 MLAs. After this, Communist Party of India and Marxist Communist Party also submitted letters of support. Both the parties have two MLAs each. VCK’s support on Saturday changed the whole picture, VCK also has two MLAs. With the support of all these parties, the number of TVK alliance has reached 119 MLAs, which is one more than the number required for majority.

118 seats are required to form the government in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly. TVK had won 108 seats in the elections, but the support of allies has now almost paved the way for the formation of Vijay’s government. There is discussion in political circles that the Governor may soon take the next decision regarding government formation.
