Big news for Jio-Airtel-Vi users, now immediate action will be taken on network and internet complaints, TRAI is bringing new rules.

TRAI New Rules On Complaint: Are you also troubled by problems like mobile network, call drop and slow internet, then there is a news of great relief for you. Let us tell you that Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has proposed to make major changes in the complaint redressal system of telecom companies. In such a situation, if this new system is implemented, then companies like Jio, Airtel and Vi will have to resolve customer complaints faster than before. Regarding this whole new system, the government believes that the existing complaint system is now outdated and it is necessary to change it as per the need.

Why are the old rules changing?

Regarding changing the rules, TRAI has informed that Telecom Consumers Complaint Redressal Regulation was first implemented in 2012. After which some changes were seen in it in 2012, 2013 and 2014 but since then there has been no change, whereas looking at today’s times in which technology and customer habits have changed, there is a need to change it too.

Talking about the earlier complaint system, most of the people used to lodge complaints by calling IVRS, but now customers also lodge complaints through mobile apps, web portal and email. Which clearly shows that the old rules are not capable of meeting the needs of the digital age.

Now it will be easier to complain

The biggest objective of changing the rules in this new draft is to simplify the way of filing complaints and tracking them. The government says that users should get the benefit of registering problems directly through the digital platform without long calls and wait. So that time can be saved. Along with this, if a customer does not like the solution given by the company, then work is being done to make the appeal process easier, transparent and faster than before.

Emphasis will increase on AI Chatbots and Apps

TRAI has made it clear in the information given by it that the customer no longer wants to depend only on the call center. People find it easier and more convenient to use fast AI chatbots, mobile apps and online portals. Due to which digital mediums will be included in the new rules. If this change happens, the pressure on telecom companies will also increase in which they will have to respond to complaints faster and also have better tracking systems.

Suggestions sought till June 5

However, the government has released this draft rule for public suggestions. On which telecom companies, industry experts and common people can give their opinion. If you also want to send suggestions, you can send them till June 5, 2026. After which, if this new framework is implemented, then in the coming time, customers will get quick solutions to problems like mobile network, internet speed, call drop and billing and they will also be able to appeal for it easily.
