DGP gave strict instructions from high level crime meeting, public hearing to social media monitoring.

Lucknow. Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh Rajeev Krishna He held a high-level crime review meeting with senior police officers from across the state at the police headquarters and gave important instructions regarding law and order, redressal of public complaints, social media monitoring and control of serious crimes.

Zonal ADG, Police Commissioner, IG, DIG, SSP and SP level officers participated in this meeting organized through online medium. Quality disposal of public complaints and IGRS cases, timeliness of investigations, e-evidence, e-summons, road safety and law and order were reviewed in the meeting.

The DGP directed that regular public hearings should be ensured at the police station and outpost level, so that people’s complaints can be resolved quickly and satisfactorily. Emphasis was also laid on making the role of Mission Shakti Centers effective in the disposal of women and family matters.

Regarding sensitive incidents, the DGP said that the police should take immediate action and factual and timely information should be provided to the media. He also instructed senior officers to reach the spot and carry out effective supervision.

In the meeting, it was asked to keep a special vigil on the networks that mislead the youth and the elements that spread caste disharmony through social media. Referring to the recent cases detected by ATS, the DGP stressed on making the social media monitoring teams more technically strong.

Describing the recently appointed 60,244 new constables as a “Once in a Generation Opportunity” for Uttar Pradesh Police, the DGP said that they should be utilized to the maximum extent in beat policing, foot patrolling and public communication. Besides, instructions were given to regularly review their practical training, accommodation and mess arrangements.

Emphasis was also laid on conducting special operations and strengthening the beat information system to control serious incidents like cow slaughter, cow smuggling, murder and robbery.

Expressing satisfaction over the progress of e-evidence and SID linking in the meeting, instructions were given to all the districts to further improve it. During the arrest, orders were also given to ensure 100% compliance with the provisions of BNSS and the guidelines of the Supreme Court.

Apart from this, while reviewing ZFD scheme to reduce road accidents and C-RTC scheme to reduce traffic jams, emphasis was laid on their better implementation.
