Yuzvendra Chahal will go to jail! There was an uproar over smoking cigarettes in flight, BCCI took this big step

Yuzvendra Chahal Vape Video Controversy: Indian spin bowler Yuzvendra Chahal seems to be in trouble. Recently, a video of him is going viral on social media in which he is seen smoking e-cigarette in flight. On this, now many cricket veterans are taking to social media and demanding strict action from the Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI, and sending Chahal to jail.

Yuzvendra Chahal is currently running Punjab Kings is a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is accused of using vape/e-cigarette on the Hyderabad flight. Whose video was posted by Punjab bowler Arshdeep Singh on his YouTube channel. After the video went viral, the demand for action against Chahal has intensified.

This is the second case of a player smoking e-cigarette in IPL 2026. Earlier, the video of Rajasthan Royal captain Riyan Parag was also revealed. Parag was seen smoking e-cigarette in the dressing room during the match. After this, action was taken against him and a fine of 25 percent of the match fee and one demerit point was given. Now the video of Chahal smoking vape in flight has created a stir on social media. Meanwhile, former Indian spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has termed Chahal’s actions as a crime and demanded that he be sent to jail.

Responding to the entire controversy, Sivaramakrishnan said that imposing a fine of 25 percent of the match fee is very less considering the seriousness of the incident. He said that he wants Chahal to be sent to jail. Sivaramakrishnan wrote on X that e-cigarettes are banned in India. Chahal should be in jail. If laws are made and not implemented then they are of no use. A fine of 25 percent of the match fee is very less. If a common man had done such a thing, what action would have been taken against him?”

BCCI issued warning

Meanwhile, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has issued an advisory. The advisory said that cases of vaping in dressing rooms and other restricted areas of the tournament venue have come to the notice of BCCI. Vapes and electronic cigarettes are prohibited under applicable law in India. Anyone doing this inside the tournament premises is not only violating BCCI and IPL rules. Strict action can be taken for this.
