High alert in Bangalore before PM Modi’s visit: Suspicious material recovered near the venue, security agencies on alert
Bangalore. Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to Bangalore, there was a panic among the security agencies when suspicious material was recovered near the venue of the event. During security check on Sunday morning, two gelatin sticks were found on the footpath, about 3 kilometers away from the venue, after which security arrangements were further tightened in the area.
According to the information, before the arrival of the Prime Minister, police and security agencies were doing intensive investigation of the entire route and surrounding areas. Meanwhile, the officers noticed a suspicious object. Immediately the bomb disposal squad was called to the spot and investigation confirmed that two gelatin sticks were found there.
DIG Central Range Bangalore said that the recovered material was found at a distance of about 3 kilometers from the venue of the event. At present, the matter is being seriously investigated and efforts are being made to find out how the gelatin sticks reached there.
After the incident, the police surrounded the entire area and the surrounding activities are being closely monitored. Security agencies are also scanning CCTV footage of the area so that any suspicious person can be identified.
However, no information about any arrest has been revealed in this case yet. Police say that the investigation is being carried forward keeping every aspect in mind. In view of the Prime Minister’s visit, security arrangements have been made more stringent in Bangalore.
